On Tuesday, out of nowhere, Blumhouse Productions dropped the first trailer for its upcoming remake of the 1996 cult classic The Craft. Written and directed by Zoe Lister-Jones (New Girl), The Craft: Legacy introduces four new witches to the iconic cinematic coven. The powerful teenagers are played by Gen Z actors Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, and Zoey Luna.
In the trailer, we get a glimpse of this group's formation (of course, they bond over a boy being a douche), their even more magical abilities, and a few hints that Legacy may be more of a sequel than first thought. Easter eggs abound, from "stiff as a board" to a spot-on revisiting of the "We are the weirdos, mister" scene.
But the biggest reveal by far is a snapshot of Fairuza Balk in-character as Nancy, with some especially eerie narration describing magical "binding" as it existed in the first film. We had no reason to believe any of the original Craft women would be in this, but now...
