On Tuesday, former Vice President and probable Democratic nominee Joe Biden took to Twitter to announce that he'd picked California Sen. Kamala Harris to be his running mate in the upcoming election — and a few hours later, Trevor Noah shared his thoughts on The Daily Show.

"I've got to say, I'm impressed that Joe picked Kamala even after she destroyed him at that debate," Noah says in the clip above, referring to a verbal sparring match that took place between the two during a Democratic debate a couple of months back. "In fact, part of me thinks he only picked her so she could never dust his ass in public again. This isn't a VP pick, it's an insurance policy."

Noah says he's also really interested to see what the Trump campaign's line of attack will be on Harris, given that "everything she's done in her career appeals to Trump's base."

"Crafty Kamala, spent her whole career locking up criminals and filling up California's jails," says Noah, busting out his best Trump impression. "She's even friends with cops. Oh God, that actually sounds pretty cool. Mike, is it too late to change you?"

Noah finishes the segment on a serious note, however, congratulating Harris for being the first Black woman on a major party ticket and describing it as "a great moment for her, and for America."
